18k White Gold Metal Guide

18k White Gold Metal Guide

Much like 18k Yellow Gold, 18k White Gold starts with a blend of 75% 24k Pure Gold and 25% white metal alloys (commonly palladium or manganese) which is carried out to provide strength and suitability for everyday jewellery. This combination is still yellow in colour, so once the jewellery has been crafted, the design is then plated in rhodium to provide its recognisably bright white appearance.

18k White Gold has risen in popularity in its use in diamond engagement rings, wedding bands and eternity rings. It’s stand out bright white lustre makes its a fantastic and more affordable alternative to platinum. White gold provides a stunning back drop for diamonds, and provides a modern aesthetic offsetting contemporary jewellery design beautifully.
